Take a look at Utiel’s festival calendar and coincide your getaway to this great destination with these spectacular events.

Utiel’s festivals are excellent opportunities to get to know this part of inland province of Valencia even better on your wine tourism getaway. The calendar kicks off in January with the blessing of the animals and bonfires in honour of San Antonio Abad, paving the way for the arrival of Carnival in February, which is celebrated amid a flurry of comparsas, parades and costumes. And not long after, it’s Las Fallas de Utiel.

Utiel’s festivals have plenty of history behind them, as is evidenced by Holy Week with its brotherhoods whose statutes date back to the 18th century. In May, the festivities in honour of de San Isidro Labrador will give you the opportunity to try alajú, a delicious sweet treat.

In the summer, the Night of San Juan celebrates the changing of the seasons with bonfires and tasty Torta Magna. And in July, the festival activities in Utiel continue with San Cristóbal festival, the blessing of the vehicles and the events in honour of La Virgen del Carmen and El Salvador.

September is a key month in Utiel’s festival calendar with the Fair and Festival in Honour of La Santísima Virgen del Remedio. You can expect pilgrimages, offerings of fruit and flowers, comedy car rallies, grape competitions, bull events and much more.

And lastly, in October, there’s an event in Utiel that you won’t want to miss: the Gastronomic Fair which includes tapas and cocktail tours in addition to all sorts of events in which you can savour tasty delights.
