Quart Towers stand proud in the heart of the historic centre of València and are a true testament to the city’s colourful past.

Originally one of the main gateways to València’s medieval city, Torres de Quart, Quart Towers, are situated in the heart of València’s historic centre. Built between 1441 and 1460 under the direction of Pere Bonfill, they take their name from the road leading to the nearby town of Quart de Poblet.

Built as a Gothic defensive structure, the Quart Towers in Santa Úrsula Square, València, feature three levels with arched ceilings and a fortified parapet, which can be reached via a spiral staircase.

Quart Towers were used as a women’s prison in the 17th century and a military prison in the 19th century. The War of Independence against the French left its mark on the towers. Check out this impressive remnant of the old city walls and the historic heart of València.
