Plan an excursion to visit one of Alcoy’s historic monuments. You’re going to love the scenery it sits in.

Torre de Barxell, Barxell Tower in Alcoy, sits on a hill that affords amazing views. The monument, which was built between the 13th and 14th centuries, still has its structure and adobe walls intact as well as its thick walls where you can see openings for doors and windows. It would make a great destination for a walk.

Barxell Tower, which is also known as Barxell Castle, has a fortified residence attached. The fortress emerges out of the mountain, painting an incredible picture.

We recommend going to visit Barxell Tower, which is located some 6km from Alcoy centre. The walk to the tower is a lovely one that you can combine with some sightseeing of Alcoy’s beautiful Art Nouveau architecture. This is a day out you’ll want to repeat time and again.
