The Ermita de San Roque chapel is located in the San Roque quarter, on Luis Calpena Street, adjacent to the Xàtiva gate. Not being on a street makes it unusual, since to reach the chapel one needs to climb a stairway and pass through the Xàtiva gate, which is part of the old city wall. The San Roque festival is held on 16 August, and the chapel can be visited on that day, when the streets are decorated by the locals and children play traditional games. Holy mass is also celebrated.
