Marvel at one of Elda’s most symbolic landmarks and uncover this old watchtower’s turbulent past.

Torreta de Elda, Elda Turret, is an old watchtower that you can’t miss visiting during your trip to the county of El Vinalopó Medio in Alicante.

Dating back to the late 14th century, Elda Turret stands as a guardian, watching over the roads spanning Elda and Sax, and overseeing the majestic castles that grace the province of Alicante’s verdant landscape.

Make your way up the hill along a hiking trail to admire the views from Elda Turret. Most likely built on top of an ancient Roman site, the rectangular tower stands more than six metres tall and has been partially rebuilt to give you an idea of its original looming presence. Bring your camera so you can take atmospheric photos of the area and then continue your exploration of Elda, a charming town that has so much to offer.
