Come and discover Holy Week in Elche, a solemn festival full of surprises.

Holy Week in Elche is a festival that transforms the town through its traditions. It all begins on Palm Sunday, in a procession that has been recorded as far back as the 14th century. Here, the precious craftsmanship of the white palm stands out.

Elche's Holy Week programme continues with the procession of the Brotherhood of the Denial of St. Peter on Easter Monday, in which the people can take part. Throughout the week there are a number of events, including performances in which biblical passages are staged, such as the Passion play.

Also of note is the solemn event known as the Trencà del Guió, or the Procession of the Alleluias. The latter fills the sky of Elche with thousands of little coloured images on Resurrection Sunday. Come and discover the Holy Week in Elche!
