Cueva de San Pascual y su ermita y entorno, San Pascual Cave, its chapel and surrounds, is one of the most visited places in Monforte del Cid. Every year a substantial number of believers come here as part of a traditional pilgrimage held in honour of the saint.

This area is located in Sierra de las Águilas y San Pascual Municipal Natural Park which is accessible by foot along pleasant hiking trails. Perched atop a hill, the cave affords incredible views of the surrounding area.

Legend has it that San Pascual Bailón lived here in the 16th century, which is why it has become a place of worship and tradition. You’ll often find lit candles in the entrance of the cave as a symbol of devotion.

San Pascual Cave, the chapel and surrounds is also home to an an old bunker, a fascinating example of Spain’s turbulent past.
