What to do in Quatretondeta
Quatretondeta’s small centre oozes tranquillity, making its streets a joy to wander around. Make sure you stop by Santa Ana Parish Church, a charming place of worship built between the 18th and 19th centuries.
Around the municipality you will be taken aback by unique landscapes, and in particular by the Frares (friars), tall and pointed karst rocks that look like giants wearing tunics looking down on you from the mountains. These formations define Sierra de la Serrella and can be seen from the centre, which affords spectacular views of them.
There are easy and more challenging trails to the Frares that will lead you to micro-reserves and old ice houses. Quatretondeta is a little slice of paradise for mountain walkers. If you’re feeling up for it and have planned your route, you could make your way to incredible formations like the one at Foradada Cave. You’ll take the most impressive photos along the way.
You also have the opportunity to enjoy all the botanical species populating the mountain including maple trees, yew trees and aromatic rock tea. A good place to end your walk is at La Viñeta Fountain, located close to Quatretondeta, where you will find a bubbling water source and a barbecue area. It’s a great spot for families to hang out. So what do you say? Fancy coming to visit this magical place in inland province of Alicante? Your getaway is sure to be an unforgettable one.
