WINTER-SPRING CULTURAL PROGRAM

The cultural programme for January-April 2025 features a wide and varied range of concerts, impressive theatre pieces, children's performances, comedy, opera, zarzuela and much more. Great productions such as “Cineman Show” with Dani Diges and the OST, “A tu Lado” with Los Secretos and the Film Symphony Orchestra; along with comedy pieces by Paz Padilla, Corbacho and J.J. Vaquero; theatre by artists such as Jose Sacristán, Toni Acosta or María Adánez, and other shows with local talent, make up the programme for the season.

January

It starts with the always wonderful concerts of the New Years and Three Kings Concert by the Torrevieja Symphony Orchestra, followed by the premiere of the piece “Juan Sin Miedo”, the children’s musical about a young man who has never been afraid of anything. During the month we will also experience the Culture Gala on the 11th and the Sports Gala on the 19th; followed by the comedy monologue by J.J. Vaquero, the concerts by Sette Voci and then by Lucía España and the musical “Quelis”, inspired by real stories of women in Torrevieja.

February

On February 1^st, the piece “Cineman Show” will be presented at the Torrevieja Auditorium with Daniel Diges accompanied by the Torrevieja Symphony Orchestra, which promises to be an outstanding event in the music scene. February will continue with the long-awaited Carnival events, such as the Proclamation, the Coronation Gala of the Kings, the National Drag Queen Contest and the Teatrico. We will also have the comedies “Una Madre de Película” with the actress Toni Acosta, with funny situations about the life of a mothers family and then “Pensionistas”, about three elderly widowed women who, in the face of difficult times, continue to sing about life and do not give up on achieving what they most desire. That month will end with the tribute to Tchaikovsky and Schubert by the OST and the great opera “Il Trovatore”, about love and revenge.

March

In the third month of the year, the children's shows “Dinosaurs and Princesses” will be presented, with characters taken from video games and a reimagined version of the classic “Hansel & Gretel”. Later, the 4th “Reinventing Education” Congress will be held, the National Competition of Comparsas & Chirigotas, the 30th International Youth Habaneras Competition and the 5th National Theatre Competition “Raúl Ferrández”, which will close with the premiere of the play “La Gramática”. There will be shows to commemorate Working Women's Day and the International Day of Flamenco, and great musical events by the Film Symphony Orchestra with its show “TARAB”, also “Música Americana” by the OST and the “Campanya Música als Pobles” by the UMT. The long-awaited autobiographical musical “A tu Lado” will premiere with the band Los Secretos, as well as the play “Las que gritan”, about three daughters and a mother who try to laugh at life; and the improvised music sessions will return in the show “Jamming”. The month will end with the Dire Straits tribute concert “Brothers in Band”, and with the great Paz Padilla, presenting her comedy show “El humor de mi vida”, based on her best-selling book.

April

It will begin with the tribute to Queen “Remember”, where the spectators will feel like they are at a concert by the legendary English band; it will continue with the piece “La Pasión”, where the last hours of Jesus Christ will be narrated and also with the premiere of the zarzuela “La Tabernera del Puerto”. Later, the Spanish comedian Corbacho will present his show “Ante todo mucha calma”, and you will also enjoy concerts by the Torrevieja Youth Symphony Orchestra and Shani Ormiston.
