Museo del Mar y la Sal in Torrevieja will take you on an exploration into the town’s past and its customs and traditions. This is an ethnological museum and, as such, focuses its attention on this town in particular, displaying everyday objects connected to fishing, sailing and salt art.

In the museum’s collections you can see archaeological remains and models that will give you an insight into what life was like in Torrevieja over the centuries and decades. One of the highlights of the museum is the model and diorama of Pascual Flores, a renowned sailing boat in the town.

Beyond exploring the exhibitions at Museo del Mar y la Sal, make sure you visit Torrevieja’s famous salt flats next to the pink lake in La Mata-Torrevieja natural park, wander around the town centre and stop off at Inmaculada Concepción archpriest church and the modernist casino. You’ll also want to take the time to sit down and savour some freshly caught fish and seafood. Put the museum on your to-visit list for Torrevieja.
