Plaza de Toros de Villena, Villena Bullring, is one of the symbols of this town in the province of Alicante. The bullring hosts all sorts of events so you’re sure to find something that you fancy going to. Built in the 1920s in the Neo-Mudejar style that was fashionable at the time, Villena Bullring has been visited by greats of the likes of Ernest Hemingway. For decades, the bullring was popular, drawing in the crowds, but it subsequently went through a period of abandonment. In 2011, the bullring was remodelled, which included the addition of the magnificent dome roof that you can see today. From this point on, it became a venue for hosting all sorts of shows and events.
