Visit Argelita to discover a quintessential Valencian celebration that transforms the village entirely.

Every year on the 3rd of May, Argelita in Castellón celebrates Fiestas de la Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz Festival, a tradition that dates back to the 18th century and is rooted in a mystical historic event.

In 1657, a relic of the Holy Cross arrived from Rome and was entrusted to the town, where it is still kept today in Santa Ana Church.

The celebration features a misa baturra, a special Mass accompanied by traditional music, followed by the distribution of a special bread.

In the days leading up to the event, the town comes alive with gatherings over hot chocolate, communal dinners, lively street parades, bell ringing, fireworks, music and plenty of activities for children.
