Mechanisms of fascination brings together pieces that rotate, beat and even converse about what surrounds them, without human intervention. Some seem to expand on the plane they are fixed on and their movements and internal dialogues are governed by an order that escapes our understanding. The usual expectations we have for everyday objects and the technology that surrounds us do not work.
The four installations that make up this exhibition project explore the idea that our perception is limited, not only in the face of the large and small scales with which we live in our vital universe, but also in the face of the artifacts that we have created under our desires.
The pieces shown are located between the industrial and the organic, between the solidity of concrete and the transience of light. They could be fragments of an uncertain past as well as vestiges of a future yet to be deciphered, everything becomes ambiguous and uncertainty becomes the engine of the experience.
Rotor Studio
Formed by the artists Ángeles Angulo and Román Torre, now established in Gijón, after a long period in Barcelona. Both have experience in various fields, such as performing arts, visual arts and art with a strong technological component. Their artistic proposals aim to reflect and speculate on different contemporary aspects of our technology, science and society.
