Visit Jérica’s most important monument - a remarkable tower steeped in ancient history.

Torre de las Campanas o de la Alcudia, the Bell or Alcudia Tower, located in the town of Jérica in Castellón, is a stunning historical landmark. It stands as the town’s most iconic monument at one of the highest points in the charming historic centre, and it can be seen from afar, dominating the skyline.

The Jérica Bell Tower, also known as Mudejar Tower, comprises three octagonal sections. The first, which serves as a base, is thought to be part of a Muslim defence structure dating from the 12th. Over the centuries, the tower has also been used as a cistern for water storage and a stable for animals.

The tower's exterior is defined by its unique Mudejar-Plateresque design. This blend of Islamic and Renaissance architectural elements makes it stand out among similar monuments and gives the structure its special ornamental character. If you’re planning to set off along one of the many hiking trails from Jérica, you’re bound to glimpse the top of the tower as you explore the natural surroundings, thanks to its impressive height. Are you up for adding this landmark to your list of sightseeing destinations?
