The Region of Valencia is unique in that each and every part of the region will treat you to extraordinary experiences, landscapes and moments. Whether you love the beach or prefer the mountains, from north to south and from east to west, here you’ll find places that are suited to your idea of a perfect getaway. The Inland Region of Valencia is always worth a visit as it promises an authentic experience of the Mediterranean lifestyle.

Located in the heart of Camp de Morvedre county, Albalat dels Tarongers is a small village bursting with life, culture, traditions and - most importantly - history. Albalat dels Tarongers dates back to Roman times when it was one of the villages connected to the town of Sagunto.

What to do in Albalat dels Tarongers

Over the years, a number of archaeological sites have been discovered in Albalat dels Tarongers. Cova de l'Aigua Amarga, for instance, has Site of Cultural Interest status for its cave art that dates back to 2000 BC. Remains of Bronze age settlements and important Roman vestiges have also been found.

Once you’ve discovered the village’s naturescape, we recommend heading into the centre of Albalat dels Tarongers. Here you can see Pla del Molí, the most impressive gate into the village, and from there continue to the impressive Palacio Señorial and the municipal wash house.

You can also visit Albalat dels Tarongers church, a beautiful Neoclassical building dating back to the end of the 19th and start of the 20th centuries. The place of worship is defined by its dome and four pendentives decorated with Biblical scenes. The village streets will then lead you into the historic Raval neighbourhood and pretty squares such as Baix plaza, in the centre of the village, and Dalt plaza, a perfect square that is part of the expansion of Albalat dels Tarongers.
