This castle in Alfauir dates back to the 11th century. It is a hisn (castle) from Al-Andalus that was part of a network of castles located around Bayrén Castle. It changed hands plenty of times over the years, until it was finally abandoned in the 15th century.
Its location, 233m above sea level, affords incredible views. To the north you can see the Falconera and Marxuquera mountains, to the south the Villalonga and El Rebollet Castles, and to the west the Borró and Vilella Castles. The best way to access the castle is from the municipality of Ador, following La Pedrera trail.
