Within the textile tradition in our country, the embroidery and ornamentation of clothing items have been one of the most valuable crafts. With workshops that have perfected their techniques throughout history, generation after generation, Spanish Haute Couture designers during their golden period (1940-1970) recognized and celebrated this tradition, incorporating it into their creative process and their creations to enhance the beauty and sophistication of the pieces that came out of the workshops. Sometimes inspired by the canons of Parisian Haute Couture, but with a profoundly Spanish identity, these designers managed to make embroidery and ornamentation distinctive elements of their collections.
This June, we invite you to discover "Guarnides: Elegància brodada" a unique exhibition that highlights the craft of embroidery in women's evening and cocktail fashion and its accessories, spanning from 1940 to 1970. The visitors will admire original pieces from the great masters of Spanish Haute Couture, such as Asunción Bastida, Herrera y Ollero, Pedro Rodríguez, Pertegaz, Rosser, Isaura... among other great names whose creations were part of the most prestigious clients wardrobe, both nationally and internationally. This exhibition offers a window into a golden period in which artisanal mastery and avant-garde design came together to create true works of art.
Don't miss the opportunity to explore the richness and elegance of Spanish fashion at its finest.
