Castillo de "Abajo", “Abajo” Castle or the Little Castle, is a fantastic fortress built on the slopes of a crag in Millares, which dates back to between the 12th and 13th century. This Andalusí fortification was built to watch over the surrounding land in case of invasions. Today, if you visit the site, you’ll encounter the remains of its outer wall, a main tower and a smaller secondary tower. Its elevated location allows for stunning vistas.

This castle in Millares is accessible on foot if you’re up for a walk - the panoramic views make the hike worth it. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes, suitable clothes and bring plenty of water.
