Ermita de San Vicente Ferrer, San Vicente Ferrer Chapel in Villar del Arzobispo, is defined by its magic and history. Legend has it that while the Saint was preaching in the village, the inhabitants desperately asked him for water. San Vicente asked them to choose between a river or a spring, and they opted for the spring. Miraculously, a spring emerged in the destination and a chapel was built in the Saint’s honour. A symbol of faith and devotion, San Vicente Ferrer Chapel was built in the Late Gothic style between the 15th and 17th centuries though additions were made at a later date.
Every year for San Vicente’s festivity, the congregation come together at this holy building to honour the saint and celebrate his protection and blessings. Bearing testament to the historic and cultural heritage of the region, it has become an important site of tourist interest. Here you can soak up the history, spirituality and architectural beauty of this lovely place of worship and leave with a permanent imprint on your heart. The chapel also sits in impressive natural surrounds. Nestled in a landscape of hills and leafy vegetation, San Vicente Ferrer Chapel affords panoramic views over the beautiful Valencian scenery, inviting you to reflect and connect with mother nature and the divine.
