This trail covers 15km of a total of 84km of railway line where the Xixarra train used to run on the foothills of Sierra de Mariola.

The province of Alicante is home to long stretches of abandoned railway lines, which have been transformed into incredible trails where you can soak up the local naturescapes and scenery. Vía Verde del Xixarra (literally meaning ‘Greenway’ in English) stretches from Santuario de las Virtudes in Villena to the municipality of Biar, and is the perfect place to enjoy views over the Alicante landscape.

The Vía Verde is suitable for walkers, bikes and wheelchairs.
