Castillo de Petrer, Petrer Castle, built around the 12th century, is an incredible example of Islamic architecture. The fortress sits in the heart of the destination and is one of the most iconic castles in the province of Alicante. It’s easy to reach the castle and once you’re on top of the hill where it perches, you will enjoy the most spectacular views.

Petrer Castle is in excellent condition and you can still see the keep and the imposing curtain walls. You’ll also have the opportunity to see halls with barrel vaults and patios. Make sure you take some photos of the crenelated walls and share them to showcase our heritage. The visitor route around the castle is clearly signposted to make things easier for you.

Beyond visiting Petrer Castle, we’d recommend stopping off to visit the cave houses that have been built in the walls. It’ll be an unforgettable experience.
