The St Anthony’s bonfire ritual is held in Montanejos the night before January 17th. Thus, neighbors collect a huge amount of petty whin, branches of pine and a few pieces of old furniture which will be burned in the bonfires throughout the municipality. On the St. Anthony’s day, there is a High Mass. After which the traditional ‘pots hanging’ is held; young people should show their shot and skill with the eyes closed. Over the afternoon, the procession of animals and the ‘charity’ delivery or delivery of St. Anthony rolls, is held.
