LA ALQUERÍA’S CASTLE

The Arabian civilization left more vestiges in this municipality than any other civilization; among them, one can find the remains of the castle and several watchtowers. The castle rests on the top of a mountain on the left bank of the Montan River. From here, the area surrounding the river bank is ruled, as well as the Mijares River. Nowadays, the castle is comprised of two towers and a well, in addition to some parts of its wall.
