The Utiel-Requena Designation of Origin (D. O.) is a historic and cultural gem in the Region of Valencia. This large region has been almost exclusively dedicated to the cultivation of vineyards for over 2,500 years, during which time its unique climate and geographical landscape paved the way for uninterrupted winemaking.
The formation of the Utiel-Requena Wine Trail, which runs through the area’s best vineyards, gives travellers a chance to really discover the culture and heritage of this important part of Spain. And now, after months of being closed, some wineries and vineyards are once again opening to the public to let them taste the fruits of the land.
When you go down the Utiel-Requena Wine Trail, an itinerary is already in place that takes you to all the must-see wineries, wine shops, restaurants and bars. The Utiel-Requena Wine Trail runs through ten municipalities, including: Camporrobles, Caudete de las Fuentes, Chera, Fuenterrobles, Requena, Siete Aguas, Sinarcas, Utiel, Venta del Moro and Villargordo del Cabriel. Together, they offer many varieties of wine from the Region of Valencia, all of which will surely keep you coming back for more.
