In March, the Valencian town of Alboraya celebrates the famous and popular Fallas festival, pulling out all the stops to make it a truly special event. On February 23th, la Crida at Plaza del Carmen kicks off the festivities - an impassioned call out that announces the start of the festival. The fun ends on March 19th with la Cremà - a huge burning tradition. And you can’t miss la Macrodespertà (firecracker display) on the March 1st, the beach parade on March 2nd, and la Ofrenda at Plaza de la Constitución on March 18th, a touching flower offering. Wander around the town and check out all the Fallas (sculptures) that Alboraya puts on display, and admire the creativity and talent of the fallero artists.
