This protected area harbors a very special ecosystem. At its heart lies a stunning cork oak forest in La Vall d'Albaida, which is the southernmost cork oak forest in the Region of Valencia.

The unique forest thrives thanks to the combination of a land with very specific characteristics and a humid microclimate, where rain and fog nourish the iconic El Surar.
