Discover Paterna Caves, a unique site whose history stems from the local agricultural land. Get ready to be taken aback.

Visiting Cuevas de Paterna, Paterna Caves, is an experience. The caves are a fascinating example of traditional architecture, combining local topology and human construction. Paterna Caves are underground residences that were excavated into the uneven terrain found at the point where the agricultural land and non-irrigated land once met. Comprising both the Batán Caves and the Castle Caves, Paterna Caves are thought to date back to the Arabic period with their use becoming consolidated between the 18th and 19th centuries. There are two types of residences: enclotadas, which have a communal patio; and frenteadas, which are excavated directly into the land.

Come and discover Paterna Caves and the area surrounding them. And if you love nature, make the most of your getaway and visit La Vallesa Wood. So what are you waiting for? Come and enjoy Paterna!
