Explore Los Serranos and find yourself immersed in beautiful inland scenery that you'll want to enjoy time and time again.

Los Serranos is a county, or comarca in Spanish, located in inland province of Valencia. As its name suggests (serranos means ‘hills’ or ‘mountains’), it covers an uneven area of land whose wild beauty will get you outdoors and enjoying the wonders of mother nature. The county is traversed by the river Turia, sections of which run through narrow gorges that are a sight to be seen. The geographic heart of Los Serranos is Benagéber reservoir, where there are spectacular rockfaces. The capital of the county is Chelva, but the biggest town is Villar del Arzobispo.

The county is home to some of the highest mountains in the province of Valencia, sitting on the foothills of Sierra Javalambre. You will also find some of the biggest forests in the Region of Valencia here, particularly in Aras de los Olmos, Alpuente, Titaguas, Tuéjar, Benagéber and Chelva.

Los Serranos comprises 1,400km2 of diverse landscapes. But though nature plays a fundamental role, history is another aspect that you’ll want to explore during your time in the inland. There are also a number of short trails where you can go hiking.

This vast county will encourage you to get out and about in the great outdoors. The local gastronomy – particularly the award-winning wines – won’t disappoint even the most discerning foodies. So come to Los Serranos to discover all of its secrets. Once you’ve been once, you’ll find yourself coming back time and time again.
