As you wander through the historic centre of Albocàsser you will come across all sorts of buildings steeped in history. Torre de la Fonteta is a case in point.

Torre de la Fonteta in Albocàsser is an example of 16th century architecture in Alt Maestrat. Situated close to the castle wall, the structure was a watchtower tasked with protecting the old town and the local agricultural land from theft and attacks.

The tower is a rectangular structure, though it was originally square, and is named after the public fountain close to it. The façade tells the story of the series of improvements and developments undertaken over time.

Torre de la Fonteta is one of many sights to see in Albocàsser.
